Practice Facilities

Besides the Driving Range we also offer the following additional Practice Facilities for Golfers.

Practice Putting Greens:
The old saying "Drive for Show, Putt for Dough." really does ring true in golf. It is often said Putting is a Game within a game. So besides the driving range where you can practice your long game, we provide two putting greens where people can work on the scoring element of the game.

In 2006 a new Putting Green was Constructed right outside the Range Shop, (see photo above right). This putting green features many undulations, slopes and deceptive breaks. It has 6 pin positions that should help a golfer develop his green reading and line putting skills. It'll also help to gain a good feel for uphill and downhill putts. The new green is still maturing and because of which it does have to be rested for periods of time.
We regret if the green is 'Out of Play' when you visit the club. Hopefully with another season of growth and keeping it'll be open for use fulltime.

Practice Chipping Green:
There is a small chipping green with three pin positions located beside the Putting Green and behind the 9th Green. This is the only place chipping practice is permitted.
To use the chipping green please purchase a basket of balls from the range machines.

Please repair any Pitch Marks you may make during your practice at the end of your practice session.

Practice Bunker:
As part of the Driving Range Construction in 2005/6 a Practice Bunker was designed and installed by Tim Hutton. Featuring two levels are artificial face, it is our belief if you can play out of this bunker, then getting out of the bunkers on the course or anywhere should not pose a problem.

To use the Practice Bunker you must purchase a basket of balls from the range. There is also a £2 fee payable by purchasing a ticket from the ticket machine. This helps to cover maintainence costs of the bunker. Users are permitted a maximum of 30 minutes in the bunker at any time.
